Where can I buy a 5" counterweight for my DA polisher?

Is this what you are looking for? Counterweight for Porter Cable 7424 Polisher (http://www.autogeek.net/pccw.html)

If you just bought the PCXP from AG, the counterweight included with the DA worked fine for 4", 5.5" and 6.5" pads that I've used.

I have the Griot's DA, and it comes with a 6" counterweight. I need the 5" counterweight for other products.

Mikes thoughts on counterweights.

"Also just to note, the Meguiar's and Griot's Garage DA Polishers don't have this ability to change counterweights, and lots of cars have been polished to show car status using these two tools."

Call AG Tech Service tomorrow to see if you really need a different counterweight. I'd guess that the one that came standard with the DA will work fine.

We might have posted close to the same time but this month Mike P. said they are not replaceable. Have you tried it, just curious?

I don't see why the one in the Griot's DA can't be changed. I'm looking at it right now, and the only thing holding the counterweight in is two phillips screws.

I use a 6'' counterweight with a 3 1/2'' backing plate & 4'' pad, and the PC seems smoother than with a 5 1/2'' or 6 1/2'' pad.

Should have taken a look at one of my own pictures or went out and removed the backing plate to make sure... sorry about that...

It does look like you can change out the counterweight on the Griot's Garage unit but not on the Meguiar's unit.

So Mike, since I have the 6" counterweight, you don't think that I'll ever need to change it? I'm planning on using a 5" backing plate and some 5 1/2" Lake Country flat pads, and I'm planning on getting a 3 1/2 or 4" backing plate with 4" pads for the tiny pillars on my Camaros.
