Guys and Gals,

I just started detailing a friend's '04 Maxima earlier today. It has been neglected, so I thought, for starters, I would go with Poorboy's Spray and Rinse for the baked-on brake dust.

Well, the brake dust is gone from the 1st wheel, but the brake rotor is now cloudy, splotchy, and white. I would feel terrible sending it back to them in this condition. Not sure what to do. I hit it with some Sonax, but it didn't really do much. I then sprayed some (and I can't believe I just did this) Griot's Rust Remover on it. I don't think it harmed the rotor, but it doesn't look any different.

Any ideas on this one? The car is due back to them later this afternoon.

Thanks so much for any suggestions.

Al

Take it out for a spin - a few hard stops

The solution is fortunately a simple on; drive it for 100 feet and apply the brakes, shinny rotors once again....:xyxthumbs:

Thanks, guys. Simple solution - worked well. I guess I'm not mad at PB's S&R anymore, despite the acid content.
