That will really depend on how stubborn those spots are on your carpet.
I found 303 cleaner and spot remover very usefull. DP carpet and upholstery cleaner is another good cleaner. For extra cleaneing power look for Wolfgang spot eliminator. Not a cheap product, but is well worth it (I only use it on my car).

the pattern offers a really good vacuum, or likely a steamer. What was used before depends upon the mess. I use Wolfgang Spot Remover on bad marks, and woolite on light cleaning. Fabric Protectant is a must on mats.

http://images20.fotki.com/v369/photos/3/37057/4346097/IMG_6947-vi.jpg

Process:

-Meguiars heated APC+ 4:1 on stains.
-Meguiars APC+ 10:1 on the rest of the carpet.
-Hand scrubbed with a medium bristle brush.
-Bissell LGM to extract the APC+ out.

Worked GREAT! Im not kidding when I say APC+ is one of my favorite products.. so versatile and with excellent results. Not to mention for 10:1 dilutions you can get 10 gallons for 1 gallon of APC+.

No problem buddy.. I wasnt upset at all. Flattered actually.

Good luck and make sure you try out that APC+... and keep in mind I personally think it works better with warm-hot water. What I did was fill my sprayer with 1 part APC+ and then ran the faucet in the sink until it was real hot.. then filled the bottle and immediately sprayed the heavily soiled areas.

The Bissell LGM is a nice little machine but honestly I use it to extract the APC+ out of the carpet.. instead of it being the sole machine to remove the spots. I do it all by hand with a brush, the aggitating that is.

Do you want to know how to make the lines in the carpets?

1. Vacuum/extract in 1 direction. (Front to back) Make all of the carpet light.
2. In the opposite direction you just vacuumed/extracted, do straight lines equally spaced to make the darker lines.
