Just looking for suggestions on how you store your clean MF towels, pads, etc...

Was going to just use a good, tight-sealed plastic bin, but figured I'd see if anyone else had any better ideas...

You got it. Large plastic containers are the way to go. Just make sure you get the towels completely dry first.

Large plastic rubbermaid tubs is what I use for towels and most of my products. They're stackable so its nice if you're limited on space.

Same as everyone else is posting with one exception, and I'm sure they are doing this as well just didn't post it. Wipe down the insides of those containers every now and then if your mobile. I noticed opening and closing them even inside my car/trunk they get a build up of dust over time.

Walmart. About 4 bucks for clear plastic stackable tubs with lids that latch. I have separate tubs for my different towels. 1 for drying towels, 1 for my wash mitts 1 for wax removal towels, etc....

I've used all the methods listed above and have used space bags, ziploc bags and the cheap clear plastic Sterlite brand shelves that slide in and out and finally I got something that works a little better for me. I got this unit last week.

Here it is locked in place in my van with tie downs. One tie down to keep the drawers closed and another to keep the cabinet from tipping or rolling around while in route to a job.

My intention is to purchase $100 worth of new Poorboy's World DMTs and individually bag each towel in a ziploc qt. size freezer bag and place them in the top drawer of my cabinet and when I finish with the towel it goes back in the ziploc and gets tossed into the bag for towels needing laundered.

Right now I have about $200 worth of towels that have gotten contaminated with debris of some sort as a result of not being diligent enough in keeping them clean, however I did get about 2 years use out of them before this happened.

My point is that especially being mobile you just can't be too careful with how you treat your towels. The contaminated ones scratch very slightly on the finish wipe downs. I can only see the scratches on dark colored cars but still they will now be used for interiors and under the hood etc. etc.

Plastic drawers like the others, labeled for "Wax Towels", "Drying Towels", "Polish Towels" "Foam Applicators" etc.. As Corey said, make sure they are completely dry first. I used to fold the towels into ziplocks and then put them in the drawer unzipped, which quickly became too many ziplocks. Also one big bin for the "Misc. Use" towels, which consists of every MF towel that has been "demoted" and deemed unfit for use on paint (great for "around the house" kind of stuff too).

Another thing to think about is dirty hampers, I got little ones from Walmart that are for hanging over a door. One each for Wax, Polish, Drying and Misc. MF towels. :xyxthumbs:
