I've read that M-205 doesn't work well with some pads. I believe it was a W-8207 that is recommended for use with M-205. I have a new W-8000 yellow 8" polishing pad for rotary use. What kind of problems have you M-205 users seen with using 205 on non 2.0 pads?

As far as the yellow foam Meg's polishing pads, the foam formulation of the original SoftBuff pads and the SoftBuff 2.0 pads are exactly the same. Only the cutting foam and finishing foam are different.

M205 will work exactly the same on a W-8000 (or W-8006) pad as it does on a W-8207. I use M205 with W-8006 pads on my Flex 3401 all the time without any issues at all.

Nice!! Thanks Charlie! This is the first time using any Meguiars pads for me. I have over 150 other pads but felt I needed another. Im the MAN

Nice thing is that today I discovered that Advance Auto Parts carries 105, 205, final inspection and various 8" Meg's pads.
