I really like how you can dilute it up to 4:1 for a non shiny look. How is its durability on tires? Does it apply evenly on tires?

Thanks

Not great, I used it this summer, and it would last through a rain storm. Come time to wash, about 2 weeks it was gone. Its great for engines, and wheel wells though.

I use it on tires on every detail... like the 3:1 satin look a lot. But durability is gonna have my trying opt tire gel next

Durability isn't that great in poor weather. If the weather stays dry, it hangs on pretty good. I have mine mixed at about 1.5:1 and don't find it glossy at all. Just a deep dark matte look IMO. I may try it at about .75:1 next time and see how that goes. I mostly use it on my truck with 17" wheels/tires as it's very easy to apply to tall tires. On my vette I'll stick with DG or OB tire gel.

I have a gallon you could sample. I went with aerosol for my truck and gel for the gf's car.

Thanks for your offer, I appreciate it. :xyxthumbs: I actually have some and just tried it on my tires for the first time. I really like the way it looks at 4:1. I posed the question about durability before I used it so I had an idea. If I can get a week out of it, I'll be happy.

If you wash your car every week then no need for anything else.

I do. :xyxthumbs: Even for details, I don't think anyone will pay attention to tire dressing after a week.

I use 2:1 ratio all the time and 4:1 for customers that request a matte finish. I do use a foam tire applicator after spraying so it might dull a bit but atleast it's even.

I spray it directly onto a tire foam applicator and wipe.

Why is that? Better Durability?

Actually, it's supposed to read DP or OB gel, not DG :) As for the reason, I like just a bit more gloss than the Megs gives. Not crazy shine, just a touch wetter than matte if that makes any sense? I do find the gels more durable than the megs as well. It's easier to apply the gels to the low profile tires of the vette than my truck too, just one pass with the applicator and it's done. That's the main reason I don't use the gels on my truck. At least not as often as I do on the vette anyway.

Nice color on your Z by the way :props:

I don't think it's that durable but it still leaves a great look depending on your dilution. I use 2:1 all the time and it's pretty shiny. I used a foam applicator so the coverage is pretty even. Check out my avatar, the tire's dressed with Meg's hyper dressing 2:1.

This might be the flaw of hyper-dressing but I see it as an advantage. This makes it easier to clean my tires since the dressing is water soluble. It breaks down the dressing easier. I hate cleaning my tires with dressing that are very oily and sticky.
