Layer or remove

I applied one coat of DP Poli-Coat to my wife's car last weekend. I didn't have time to add a second layer, but want to put one more coat on before the weather turns nasty. Would you advise just washing and then applying the second coat, or is it necessary that I remove the existing coat and then add two layers, 12-24 hours apart, with an additional 12-24 hour curing period? I'd really like to just go right over it if possible, but I see a lot of you posting about stripping the existing LSP so you can add a new coat.

If it matters, I did clay and machine polish the paint last weekend.

Just wash the car good with your auto shampoo and after drying you can add another layer.
