Nothign really fancy here. It was about a 4.5 hour job with D151 as a single-step polish.

Owner wanted his car cleaned up really well and sealed before if got crapped up from being a daily driver.

The car received the following treatment:

Full wash (including door jambs, wheels, tires and wheel wells) with CG's Wash n Gloss
Claybar with Claymagic
Single Stage Polish with Meguiars D151 on Green Pad applied with FLEX DA on speed 5
CG Full detail spray wipedown to remove all dusting
Chemical Guy's Buttery Wet Wax applied on Blue Pad with FLEX DA on speed 3
CG Detail spray wipedown to remove wax and improve gloss
Exhaust tips polished with Mothers
Trim, tires and wheel wells dressed with CG Bare Bones

Interior received full vacuum and wipedown

Only light swirls in the paint. The goal wasn't total correction, but D151 removed about 50% of the swirls.

Only 50% of the swirls? Were there only two swirl marks on the entire car? I don't see any swirls in that hood shot! Great job!

Lol, there are some light swirls in there :P

It had a few light scratches from the dealership running it through an auto wash (even though he requested that it not happen) before he took delivery of the car.

We both agreed before the detail started that the condition of the car didn't call for a full multi-step polish because I thought it would clean up pretty well with just D151...and it did :)

I didn't have a chance to get before pictures because it was literally a race against the clock because he had to leave for a ballgame at noon, so I got there at 7 and got to it immediately.

Why not use speed 6?

I preferred the way the polish was working on speed 5 and I didn't need a lot of correction power.

I did try a few sections on speed 6 and settled with speed 5.

Very cool! Since that's a 2011 with the RS package, does that mean it had the head-up display on it?

Yep, it had HUD, although part of the detail wasn't test driving the car, so I can't comment on it much

I thought I saw it on the dash in the pics and wasn't sure if that's what I was seeing or not.... just curious. :props:

Why not use speed 6?

mark, I've found in florida heat the D151 tends to dry out pretty quick on 6
i get a good amount of work time on 5 with my flex

Final Touch.......I've done a few of new the s/s's, black, orange and white....didn't try D151 but they did want correction on the 3, IMO I found the clear a little on the hard side...what did you think?

next time I get a 1step on a s/s I'll try D151...thanks

BTW...the 3 I did were all highly modified 1-500+hp on motor two were 700hp supercharged----- awesome cars

Looks great, love the color. Reminds me of my '69 Camaro.

Exactly...on Speed 6 it seemed to dry the polish out too quickly. It was a particularly dry day in Houston this past Sunday, so it was really noticeable.

I did a full correction on a Blue 2010 SS and I did find it a bit tough.

I used M105 on an Orange Pad - Flex Speed 6 followed me M205 on a Green Pad - Flex Speed 3. It came out pretty nice, but took some time.

Here is my thread on the '10 SS that was swirl city.
