Hi guys, a week ago my keyless entry remote went out. The car / key have 70k miles and I dont know if the guy before got more than one set of keys or anything.

Question is, if I go to autozone and get them to replace the battery will the remote work again or will I have to "reprogram" it to work with my car?

yes it will work what kind of car.
sometimes if it dosn't work you need to unlock the d/s door or leave the key in the ignition on acc for a min.
if its an older ml mercedes put key in ignition remove and hit lock or unlock button 5 times in 30 sec. but it should work with just a new battery

There is a good chance all you need is the battery...

Any mention in the owners manual as what to do? PD steps / resetting the remote after a battery change?

Do you have an owner's manual or can you find one online? Chances are you need a battery. It should come apart and you'll find a simple watch battery inside. I just replaced one for my mother's Lexus.

I hope for you that its just the battery as key fobs can get pretty pricey. If you do have to replace it then have the dealer program it for you when you pick it up. I doubt they will charge to program it.
