Hey everyone, I'm from the little town of Lititz, PA (north of Lancaster) and I thought I would just introduce myself. I've been reading autogeek forums for years so I'm not new to detailing. I've been known for detailing in the Pontiac Grand Prix forums (clubGP) ever since I picked up a Porter Cable 7424 (old model) and Sonus SFX polishes over 5 years ago. I had a 2000 black Grand Prix GTP sedan that won a few awards at car shows and also placed in 1st place 3 years in a row in the clubGP calendar. Here are two pictures of my old car:

I sold my GTP to a girl in May of 2009 and she kept up the tradition with it, buying a DA polisher and using M105/205 on it....so I'm sure it looks the same way it did when I owned it.

Anyway, I replaced my GTP with a GXP......a Pontiac G8 GXP. My wife also has a red G8 GT. I need to restore the finish on my GXP since I haven't detailed it since I bought it 18 months ago. (gasp! I know, a 1-2 year-old at home will keep you busy though). Since my supply of products has been sitting on a shelf for awhile and I need new pads anyway, I thought about just upgrading to the Flex 3401 to help get better/faster results. I will keep the PC for the hard-to-reach spots with smaller pads too.

So now I'm trying to decide what products to use. I had decent results with Sonus polishes and Zaino sealants, but like most people do, I wondered if there's anything better out there. So I'm looking at the Wolfgang Twins or the Megs 105/205.....currently leaning towards Wolfgang. I still may stick with the rest of my Zaino for a LSP until it runs out, then try something else. Anyone have any input on Megs vs WG?

I also wonder if my old leftover Sonus polishes have a shelf life and I should just throw them out. I have their SFX-1 (medium) and SFX-3 (super fine) leftover and I was wondering if they are even still usable......I think they are 2-3 years old.

Here are pictures of my blue GXP 6MT (headers, intake, tune, cat-back) and my wife's red GT A6 (intake, tune, cat-back, 2010 Camaro SS rims)

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and look forward to "polishing" my detail skills.:buffing:
