This was the second in order to be detailed. He bought this one in late 04 and only has 10k on the clicker. This is his daily driver also. I was in extremely nice shape so there are no before shots. I was afraid also that I was gonna run out of daylight and one more to do. This got a light polish and wax. The interior's leather also got cleaned and treated. The engine bay recieved some attention also.

He saw me wiping down the inside of the wheel wells and said "What the heck are you a doing boy?!?!" I just laughed and then he saw them. He said that hooked him and wants this one done everyweek!

Here's what it got....

Optimum's New Formula Polish
(EDGE2K Green Light Cutting Pad at a #5 PC setting)
I wanted to see what kind of cut this stuff had by itself. It really does more than just polish. I removed some fine swirls and hazing along with some light oxidation. I did notice how it really brightened up the red. There was no hint of dust and there were tons of work time. Came off so easy....most cases just one swipe of an MF towel took it off!

Pinnacle's Liquid Souveran (X2)
(EDGE2K White Finishing Pad at a #3 PC setting)
Remembering what this did on a red Supra this summer, I decided on this for my LSP. Boy was I and the customer happy with it! The gloss and depth doubled after just one coat so why not another? WOW! All the customer said and walked back into the house shaking his head!
Enough cannot be said about EDGE's white pad. It holds the wax right on the outter layer of the pad making for less product use. It's well balanced and flows smooth over the paint. The first coat went on in less than 10 minutes. Effortlessly!

Start Time:
12:15PM
Finish Time:
2:00

250.00

Meguiars Detailer Line Super Degreaser

Very nice, Justin!! Looks like you're trying out the Optimum line now. Loved what you did to the Caddy with the Optimum Poli combo, and now this Avalanche with just the Polish. I like the look of that AA foam and gel. Did you use the AA foam on the exterior plastic of that Chevy, and on the cover of the truck bed?
When you say that the polish had "tons of work time", does that mean it took longer to "flash" than XMT? (I'm using XMT as a comparison because that's the only polish I have and used). Sorry if it's a dumb question, but what does having longer work time with a polish mean? I've seen that phrase used quite a bit and never really understood.

I didn't use anything on the trim or trunk this time. I will probably use Hyper Dressing 4:1 for more protection than look.
OP does have more work time than the XMT's but then again the XMT's have more abrasives in them. Each polish has it's place and system.

Seriously how do you do it so dam fast!! Do you pop any pills or drink any special juice because to do a vehicle that big and in that short time you got to be running around everywhere. Well, I’m creating a “how to detail” binder for my self and basically what I do is just print out what you and other people do as a process and put in the binder. This will be my guide to detail my own vehicles. I love how you experiment with products and find the best combination. You do great work and please don’t stop doing all the write ups.

Does Pinnacle Liquid Souveran not have a cure time? Is that why you could apply back to back coats like that?

Also, is there really taht big of a difference using the white pad with LSP rather than a grey or blue pad?

Thanks so much for the kind words! I just have a process and I skip lunches and breaks.....which I shouldn't. Maybe I'll post my steps and times for a guide if you all would like me to. To me there is never an exact perfect combo. There are so many good products out there. I just want to keep it FUN! That's why I do this.

What other job can let you work at a setting like this, on these cars, make money and get nothing but compliments? I'm sure there are more but for me it's detailing!

Thanks guys. If I can ever help more let me know.

Liquid Souveran is carnauba based so to me there is no exact cure time. I'm sure there maybe to some but I was looking for a more even, uniform coat than anything else. I do this same thing with NXT. With the EDGE pads, the white just holds liquid LSPs closer to the surface of the pad making for less product use.
