I got my PC last weekend for my birthday. I gave it a go on my 06 Avalanche yesterday.

I've come to the conclusion that I need to figure out how to take better pics. I took a ton of pics and only the ones below actually came out where you can see anything.

I washed the truck 1st using 2 bucket method.

Meguirs Gold Car Wash
2 Buckets - Grit Guards
Clayed using Adam's Clay and Griots Speed Shine as a lube
Meguirs 105
Meguirs 205
DP Paint Sealant
Adam's Buttery Wax
PC 7424
Edge 5" pads, yellow, green, white

I did my test section and it took me some time to dial in my process. I started with the green edge pad and 105, but it wasn't enough cut, so I went to the yellow with 105. Then the green with the 205 and put the sealant on with the white finishing pad.

Overall I got about 90% of the scratches out of the hood and the drivers side fender (only areas I did).

Below are a few pics, at least the ones that came out.

Nice work! I have a pick-up as well, it's gonna take awhile to finish that.

Great start, Very nice job for your fist attempt. You might want to reconsider using the white finishing pad for LSP application. It has some cut and will mar/haze your finish. You should be using Gray, Red or Blue for LSP's. just my .02.

Pickups take a long time...especially when you are leering and going very slow anyway.:buffing:

Yeah it's going to take me some time to get the whole thing done. Probably going to continue today, of course my knee is pretty sore from standing on it for 5 hours yesterday.

With the edge pads the white one is the softest. The blue has more cut than the white. I didn't see any marring or anything with my LSP. The sun wasn't out so I couldn't get a really good look, so I'll have to take a look today.

My mistake, I didn't pay close enough attention that you were using the Edge pads....Sorry for the comment.:xyxthumbs:

You need a wheeled stool to buff with to keep you off your knee. Good job. For pictures try taking a couple with the Brinkman light only and turn off the flash....see if that works better. with no Sun it's hard unless you are in a dark garage or something.

No problem! You actually had me questioning myself at 1st. I had to double check!

I just went out and did my tailgate before football starts for the day! I think I got the picture thing down now. I have to hold the light at a angle. It also doesn't help that the screen on my camera is covered in finger prints, so I couldn't see if the swirls were coming in. These pics came out better.

This pic looks like there is stuff all over the paint, but that's actually just paint on my shirt. Crappy clothes!

Last Step Product. This article explains it pretty well.
