I detailed an 09 Altima on Tuesday for a co-worker. She has two little kids and as you can see from the pics she hasn't cleaned the car since she got it. There was mashed munkins in the seats, melted crayons, melted blowpops, dounut sprinkles and candy all over the place. This was mainly an interior detail and I just gave it a quick wash on the out side.

very nice interior turn around, did you shampoo the carpet? or was it just a good run over with the shop-vac? anyways great job!

I just used the adams carpet spot cleaner for a few spots. The floors were actually pretty clean. It was the floor mats that I had to spend a little time on, but everything came out fairly easy.

I used my car wash soap and a bug sponge like this one..

Professional Bug Sponge 2 Pack - Remove bugs from car paint with bug & tar sponges. Scrub insect remover. Clear coat safe. (http://www.autogeek.net/bug-sponge.html)

Try claying, I find that removes the last of bugs that I cant get off otherwise.
