My Nissan is supposedly a 3 stage paint from what I read online - one color, one pearl, and one clear - but the factory touch up kit has two bottles - one color and one pearl/clear mixed. Is this just to simplify touch ups, or is the paint on the car really a 2 stage? Anybody have experience with touching up 3 stage paints?

You just use the color to fill in the chip, only use what you need because you need room for the second coat...

Applying touch-up paint with little brushes, or toothpicks, or whatever you can find is a tricky work to make it look good...

Take your time...

So no clear/pearl coat? Or not until it's filled with the color?

It's a deep gash from who knows where, right through to metal I think. But only about 1/8th inch long on the A pillar.

Also, any idea if this means it's a 2 stage paint from the factory?
