backing plate?

If I have a 5 inch backing plate (using 5.5 in pads) do I need a different counter weight? Counter weight says "use 6 inch pads only". This is a Porter cable 7346 (basically a 7424)

Thanks for your help.Haven't noticed any difference. Might make a difference when using a thin sheet of sand paper.

I'll just keep it then. I ordered the wrong backing plate though! Now I have to wait to send back this one and get a new one before I can get started on polishing...
