Least aggressive first. Do a test spot and see what you need to do the correction.:buffing:

I would use the grey LC pad with Megs 205 since the orange/m105 combo most likely removed the swirls. The grey/m205 will just clear out the micro-marring from the first step and increase the clarity/depth of the paint.

Gotta do the test square first! Well, at least you stopped at the hood and checked it.
What pads did you end up using?
Don't worry, a couple tweaks and little practice and you'll be feeing a lot better about things soon.
Look forward to the pics.

That is a big difference! I think what's bothering you are the deeper defects correct? If so, only more passes with M105 will correct those, but you need to be aware of the amount of clear the car has remaining and if your car is a daily driver, garage queen, show-car, etc.? This will help determine the amount of correction you should target.

That looks like a huge improvement to me. I bet your technique with the product will improve and then you'll really be in business.

105 works very differently from other polishes I have used and it takes some practice to get the results you are looking for from it.

Wow definitely GREAT IMPROVEMENT for just 1 section pass! , I bet if you do 5-6 sections passes and overlap as you go into other sections you will love the product.

The only problem I have with 105 is that the working time is very little but then again it works on that very little amount of time. And also it tends to haze the paint a bit, but that is something the 205 with the white pad can remove.Overall I think is almost a night and day difference for just 1 pass.

I also think that's a great improvement!! The hood is pretty scuffed up bad and it looks like it has a lot of RIDS. You might need to wetsand your paint but I wouldn't really expect it to be perfect.

I read something that Mike Phillips said that I keep remembering so when I do my car, (not sure his exact words) "make the most of what you have to work with". Not every car can be a show car but if you can make a big improvement that might be all you get and should be very happy with it.
I think you've made a big improvement so far and you might make more, just keep at it.
