d151 for sure. It has more cut than 205.

D151 has more cut but Poli Seal finishes off better (in my experience). So generally if a car is in good shape and you just want to give it a nice gloss, I would reach for Poli Seal. If the car has some degree of marring that needs repair and the customer isn't paying for perfection, I would reach for D151.

D151 has more cut, I did not see much cut at all using Poli Seal but it does clean well and leave a nice look

D151 has a lot of cut when used with a wool pad on a rotary.

I was expecting poli-seal to have sligthly more cut than it does. Product apply very well, removal is SO EASY. Smell just like souveran (fantastic and addictive!). Finish quite nice ( maybe because of the added sealant) but damn it does like 20% of correction. Can't even correct all swirls.

Poli Seal really wasn't designed to correct swirls, more to clean up the haze from the compound/polish used to correct the swirls and to beautify the finish.

Ilove poli-seal but it has very little cut....you just know when to use it for a one step.

For me a one step is AT LEAST 50% correction. a one-stepper is either SSR2 or D151 ( just use it today for the first time and oh buy it's great!!). Less than that, the customer wouldn't be happy.

I agree with cobraa. For a 1 step to be worth using it needs to have noticeable improvement in the paints finish (50% or more correction of swirls/holograms/etc...)

D151 is definitely my go-to product for that. On an orange pad it can knock out a lot of problems.

I think it depends on the condition of the paint. There several times where you will have a car that is in pretty good condition and D151 would be over kill. On those, Poli Seal is a great choice. The finish after Poli Seal will (in my experience) will be noticably glossier with Poli Seal than it will be with D151. It finishes down so much nicer. I would say it cleaning and glossing ability are better than D151.

Now if you have car in need of a bit of paint correction, Poli Seal would only gloss the paint up, not correct much.

Are you able to finish with D151 on wool?

I would assume you would have to follow up with something to clean up the holograms which would no longer be treating it as a one step, which is fine, just I think the OP is looking at the two as to which would make a better one step product.

I managed to on a black VW Jetta.

Impressive. I just haven't used a rotary enough to master it like that.
