I decided to revive my black exhaust tips that had been neglected for many months and thousands of miles. Over time they turned a foggy gray and almost looked like regular neglected stainless steel. At first I thought I need to use some sort of metal polish but I was advised by sgtmillhouse648 to treat these particular exhaust tips like single stage paint. So, I used a very simple process and they came out 100 times better than I thought they would. In fact, they almost look brand new and all done by hand. The items used were:

Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner
Meguiar's #80 Speed Glaze
Poorboy's Ex-P Sealant
Wolfgang Wax 'n' Polish Applicator
Miscellaneous terry cloth towel
Miscellaneous microfiber towels
The Before's:

First the tips were sprayed down with APC (I don't recall the dilution). After a minute or two I wiped off the grime with a terry cloth towel. Once I was certain all the APC and grime was removed I proceeded to apply Meg's #80 onto the tips using the orange side of the wax 'n' polish applicator. After some grueling hand polishing I wiped off the left over residue with a microfiber towel. Once the tips were polished I sealed the tips with Ex-P using the gray side of the applicator. After the sealant hazed it was wiped off using a microfiber towel.

And now for the After pictures:

And the products used:

I now have a dedicated exhaust pad...

Thanks for looking!

Wow they look great! Do you feel you could have refined them more with another product, or did the M80 finish down enough?

Good job. I would suggest Blackfire metal sealant as it was made to take the heat from tips and wheels.

I wasn't expecting to get the results I got quite honestly and so I'd have to say M80 finshed them down enough. However, I'm sure other similar products would have done the same or similar.

Thanks for the suggestion! I had used EX-P because I had to use what I already have. There won't be any product purchases any time soon but when it is time I'll pick up the Blackfire as well as the WG paint sealant that I've been hearing so many good things about.
