Hey guys
I'll be going away for college and will be leaving at the end of august. I would like to do a final big detail to protect my car while im gone and for the winter. I wont be seeing my corolla for months at a time .

I was thinking
Nxt wash to strip LSP
Clay with Mothers
Meguiar's DC1 Paint Cleaner
Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #7
2 or more(?) layers of Nxt 2.0

Will burying it in wax protect it a little from the harsh NJ Winters?

any ideas?

Thanks!

i've never used nxt but I hear/read that durability isn't great. Check out klasse or collinite for a winter topper.

:iagree: Go with Collinite over the NXT. Durability on NXT 2.0 was never too hot in my experience with it.

Do a base of DP Poli-coat and top with Collinite 845 (liquid) or 476 (paste), you will be set for a while. DP Poli-coat is very stubborn (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/dp/26831-attention-budget-minded-detailer-s.html)!

My 2 cents, go with a dawn strip followed by klasse aio topped with as many coats of 4* upp polycharged as you can get on before you leave. A carnauba will eventually degrade over time so a pure sealant would be the best.

I use Collinite 845 every Fall before the first snow. It seems to protect the best.
