I finally finished getting some dealer-induced marring out. I'm amazed at how poorly dealers treat cars on the lot. Took a while, but it was worth it. Now I just have to maintain.

After a combo of Optimum via PC (a few spots needed the rotary), and some FPII via PC, it was AIO, 4* UPP, Souveran.

LOL! Yeah, for some reason I always seem to be in a Mazda. Had a 96 Miata, then a 99 Miata, then an 04 6s, then an 06 Miata (well, now the MX-5), and now the Speed6. And then there's the wife's 5. But I also had a 98 Acura RL and a 99 Honda Accord interspersed in there too. You think Mazda NA would give me a freebie by now.

Man, after actually writing down the cars I've had in just the past 10 years, I've gotta start hanging on to them. Hopefully I'll stick with this one for a while.

Mazda is a cool car company. What did you think of the Mazda6s and how does it compare to the speed6? Also, how long did it take you to finish your car and you used Optimum POLISH right?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I know, I should've taken off those stupid dealer tags before taking the pics. Oh well. ;)

abrcrombe, the 6s was a good car. The main reason I traded it in was the front wheel drive. I had a front drive car before (the accord) and swore I'd never get one again. I just hated the torque/understeer inherent in the design. But, after test driving the 6s and liking it, I thought I'd give front drive a second chance, with the hope I'd come to accept front drive...but it just didn't happen. Other minor quibbles were a very poor turning radius (seems better in the speed6), and lack of low end torque.

As far as comparing the 6s and the speed6, they're very similar aesthetically, but very different performance-wise. The increased HP, AWD and 6 MT of the speed6 make it a much more rewarding driving experience than the 6s.

Oh, and on yet another Mazda note, my sister will be taking delivery of a Mazdaspeed3 soon. I told her to not let the dealer touch it! I'll post pics once sshe gets it and after I clay, light polish if neccessary, and seal.

Yes, Optimum Polish. It's difficult to know exactly how long it took, as I did it over the span of a couple of weeks, working on panels here and there when time permitted. Certain areas were very difficult to make progress with the PC. I did many passes with different polishes (Optimum, Meg's 83, 2.5, even SSR3) and saw only minor improvement after each pass. In those areas I finally used the rotary with Optimum polish, and they cleared right up. A bit of halogramming was taken care of with the pass of FPII via PC.

I'm amazed that on a brand new car, I had to resort to using a rotary. Nothing like a dealer "caring" for their cars on the lot. I told them not to wash it, and they didn't. But it had obviously been through some prior washes while on their lot.

Sevenrd....
That is one of my favorite autos out right now. The whole Mazda line-up is awesome. Very underated and very comfortable/affordable.
Unbelievable work on the paint. I had a sample of OHC and OC and loved them. I bet the new formula is even better!
Nice work and cograts on the hot ride!
