What tire dressing do you recommend??? I have a few extra dollars burning a hole in my pocket and want to find a "go to" tire product.

I'm trying to find something that isn't ridiculously $$$$$. I've tried numerous 'OTC' products and after a friends recommendation I recently bought ArmorAll tire gel which casts off and looks horrible. I'm trying to find something that's a good quality dressing with a high shine/possible wet look that doesn't have that nasty cast off.

I was contemplating trying the new WG or the Optimum tire shine?? Any thoughts or recommendations?

High-gloss dressings are typically solvent-based, which means that they will always have a problem with sling. But there are a couple of water-based dressings that are water-based: Optimum's Opti-Bond (http://www.autogeek.net/opti-bond-gel.html) is highly regarded here on AutoGeek; another high-gloss dressing, which one doesn't here much about here on AG, is Mother's FX Tire Shine (http://www.autogeek.net/mo20324.html). I recently ordered it and am hoping to use it in the next week or so.

After you applied the Armor All Extreme, did you use a towel afterwards to remove any excess? I've read many positive reviews of the product and am a bit surprised by your negative assessment of it.

For non-slinging low-gloss dressings, see my review (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/26183-matte-tire-dressing-contest.html).

I tried out the DP tire gel at the autogeek open garage and it went on pretty smooth. The shine though is kind of satin like though and not wet/high shine. I didn't notice any cast off though and today (5 days later) the tire still looks great. As for the other products, I haven't tried them yet but I'll stay tuned to your thread for more info...

Bought the trial size of Poor Boys Poorboy's Bold N Bright Tire Dressing: A two-in-one tire cleaner/dressing that yields stunning results. poorboys tire treatment, poorboys rubber (http://www.autogeek.net/pbbnb16.html) and seems to look great and no slinging

I like Opti Bond, new DP and 4 Star Spray with Polycharger. OB and DP are less glossy than 4 Star. None of these sling IME. 303 AS is also great on tires and is more matte than all others IMO.

Might I recommend using All Season Dressing? I'm really liking it.

I have only used the applicator to remove the excess. I will try using an old towel to wipe off excess product. I like the fact I can use the armorall & even after scrubbing it with tire cleaner it still looks good. If it stops slinging product I'd finish the bottle. I think I will look into the Optibond and mothers fx.:dblthumb2:

+1 for mothers fx, I wouldn't consider it high gloss though...

I use Meguiar’s High Gloss Hot Shine Tire Spray. It's a spray and goes on evenly. It looks wet initially then dries to a rich black shine.

If you want high shine use the wolfgang. I picked up 2 gallons when it was on bogo and I love it because it has a high shine and as time goes on and miles are put on the car it still looks black even if the shine goes away. I applied it and I still had a slight shine over a month after. By far my new favorite tire dressing.

I use a Blue solvent base dressing, Gives a nice dark shine and great durability with no sling.
