Paint Correction:After the car had been washed/dried and clay barred I went around to take sample readings of the clear coat. Nothing was out of the ordinary except the hood. Near the front of the hood I was getting readings below 100 microns, with 82.7 being the lowest. Other than that the average was around 125-130 microns, very good for a healthy BMW :)

I started out with a white Lake Country pad with 106FA just to see what the results would be. It improved the finish but did not remove the heavy RIDs still in the paint. I then tried the combination of a orange Lake Country pad and SIP on speeds of 800rpms --> 1500 --> 1800 --> 1100. Again, this improved the overall finish but would not get rid of the pesky RIDs still in the paint. Next I tried a purple Lake Country wool pad with Meguiar's 105, and bam that was the perfect execution of cut. This is my second time using 105 and I'm totally convinced and hooked. What an amazing product, and I just have to figure out what to do with my three unopened bottles of SIP uhhhh.

Combo for this car:

Makita 9227C | 3M Backing Plate | Gloss-it 3 inch Backing Plate
Meguiar’s 105 | Purple Wool pad
Menzerna Super Intensive Polish | LC Orange pad
Menzerna Nano Polish | LC White pad

Pet, What are your thoughts on the Grime Reaper? It sounds pretty strong. What ratio do you use on the wheels, how long do you let it dwell etc?

amazing results..!!!

just a couple of questions if I may,

1. what size were the LC pads and the purple wool pad?

2. did you do the entire correction with the 9227C or at some point did you use a ROP?

Very true, it's super strong. Wheels, I dilute it to 10:1 (water/Grime Reaper) and on tougher jobs 1:1. I don't let it sit too long actually, lightly mist the area and agitate with a brush and then rinse. Works wonderfully.

WOW. Awesome work!

Thank you!

Lol, I tell myself all the time actually. I'm no pro, and everything that comes to me is through word of mouth. It just happens that I own an E36 M3 and have a lot of BMW connections. I'd love to do something else, but I'm not complaining :props:

All of my LC pads are low profile 5.5 inch pads, with the wool pad being a 6.5 inch. The entire car was done with the Makita, second time with this machine, my trusty Flex 3403 is on a nice vacation.

Thank you! The owner was absolutely thrilled, such a pleasure to work with. He was so excited he came over a little earlier to show me his new M6 that he wants me to work on. So stay tuned for that one, will be a war for sure.

Awesome work on removing most of the orange peel on the rear. Beautiful finish overall.

Just wanted to make sure if i understood it correctly, you used 3" BP for the 5.5 flats and 6.5 PFW? Thanks. :)
