I'm installing side skirts on my car soon and I plan to install them with double sided tape and screws.

Will 3M double sided tape mess up my factory paint if I try to remove it later on?

What kind of double sided tape will I need? I heard there is different colors.

I'd be more concerned about the screws than the tape!

3m tape will not hurt anything, used by the factory to hold together many body parts.

You will want 3m automotive gray foam tape. (drak gray foam with red backing tape)

This is what I used to install my side skirts. Can get this tape in many thicknesses and widths:

I have never had a problem with 3M body cladding tape damaging the paint. As a matter of fact the paint under the tape was in such perfect condition that I used it as a guide to correcting all the surrounding paint. I used naptha to remove the tape residue.
