I was working on a friends freshly painted car that he washed with a brush on a pole. Ugly scratches everywhere. I usually tape off all edges when using the rotary so my question is how do I do some of the tighter areas. Its an older Mustang convertible so it has that piece along the rear decklid that runs above the trunk. Its only about 2 or 2 inches wide and if I tape the trim and the edge at the trunk it is even thinner. How do I go about buffing this area with my small pads? Up and down is virtually impossible, is only side to side OK? Should I just let the pad run across the tape between the panels? Any advice or any video links would be great.
