or most of my higher end paint correction packages I will start with M105, follow with a finishing polish, and finish with a pure sealant LSP.

Most people would of course recommend using 205 after 105, why break up the twins right?

Let me digress a little: I use D151 for my cheaper packages, I either do 151 on its own with a orange LC pad for my cheapest, or do 151 on an orange LC and follow up with #21 sealant on a black for my middle of the road package.

Back to the topic at hand: is there any reason I shouldn't ditch my 205 or similar polish and use D151 between my 105 and LSP? D151 has more cut than 205, but finishes LSP ready, it's way cheaper, smells nice, and using D151 + your LSP will give you two layers of protection over just one. I've never heard of anyone having problems topping 151 with #21 sealant.

It would be very convenient to be able to cut a product out of my regular orders and use PRC instead.

The only thing I can think of is if you're using a cleanser such as IPA or Dawn/Menzerna Top Inspection to make sure that your final polishing got rid of all the defects instead of it just being filled/covered by the built in wax of D151. Other than that..As long as your LSP is compliant and plays nicely with D151 I see no problem at all with following 105 with it. I love D151 as a single step polish for light-medium swirls. Heavier swirls/scratches require M105 without a doubt.
I can tell you for sure that topping D151 with Natty's Blue is not very nice at all...they don't like each other.

Thanks for the input, I use Poorboy's products a lot on my own vehicles but top my customer's cars with Megs #21 Sealant, as shown above :)

I rarely ever follow up M105 with M205. I usually switch it up between 106fa, OP II, or D151. In my testing D151 and M205's cut and finish are so similar that I just stick to D151 because it smells better and works the same. With D151 I don't have to buff off the residue till I finish the entire car because removal is buttery smooth wet or dry.

Interesting input...I assume that if you were going to go straight from your 2nd step polish to a LSP D151 would be the way to go.

Depending upon the type on paint you are working on you dont always need 3 steps. M105 + M205(D151, 106fa,..etc) work perfectly fine for most all paints besides soft clears or dark colored cars which usually require the extra step.

Also I find it strange you are having problems with D151 and Nattys(red or blue.) I have no problems use the two together.

I also think that using d151 in place of 205 is perfectly fine. I mix and match brands and products to get what I want as far as looks. D151 is a great one step adn I love the stuff and use it all the time. I dont use it in place of 205 or other polishes though, maybe once in a blue moon, and I honestly cant really tell you why other than if I am using a sealant for the client I dont want to be putting my sealants over the protection of d151

Did you give D151 any cure time before applying the Natty's? I went straight from polishing to waxing which is why I think I might have had problems. It was streaking very bad and was very hard to come off and almost seemed to rip microfibers off of my towels.
