so today i went ahead and attacked my carbon fiber hood with megs uc via da and polishing pad and oh man did i goof. don't really know if it's marringbut i applied in about a 2ftx2ft section but i think i let it dry. it would not come off. so i used some ppwcl andd it helped after 2 applications. then followed with nxt2.0(since it has cleaners in it)and that helped. me being so ocd, i think i can still see a little hazing in a couple spots.

so my question is, think xmt360 will take care of the hazing?

i just recently clayed the hood about a week ago so i am gonna skip that step but do i need to strip all the wax prior to the xmt360?

the only reason i opt for the 360 is that it's a great product and very user friendly.

thanks in advance.

360 is a very good product. It might help, but what other "polishes" do you have
Since a good polish will finish out, and take the haze out.

I.E. optimum polish II, WG 3.0 FG, meg's 205, menz 106 ?

And don't worry about stripping the wax off. Polishing the take care of that. Or just use a IPA wipe down.

Normally compounds and polishes should never be allowed to dry.

Now follow me on this,

The benefit to a compound or polish is that it can remove defects by abrading the paint. when the compound or polish is worked against the finish it does its abrading work. If you don't work it then it just sits there. So the benefit is defects are removed but this only happens when the product is actively moved against the paint.

So when you're done moving or working the product over the surface, wipe it off as there is no benefit from having it sit there and the longer it remains on the surface the more completely it will dry making wipe-off difficult.

understood. used the 360 today and it worked extremely well. followed it with fk1000p and looks very good.

mike, i did some reading and watched some of your videos. it sure helped me figure out how to work the compound and polish.

also, thank you highendetail for your reply. next time i will use the 3.0. it's still brand new.
