I detailed the MKZ (Tuxedo Black Metallic) this past weekend. I used some of the products I got at Detail Fest (Fuzion, Auto Bathe, Griots). I posted them from my laptop so I cannot tell if the pics are slightly dark.

Products used:

Wolfgang Auto Bathe (also in the goodie bag)
Nice soap. Used at 1 oz / 3 gallons. It generates very airy suds (not the dense foam type) that last the wash. Seems to clean well. Very runny so mitt picks up a lot and spreads on paint. Lubricity felt good.

Mothers Clay
I dropped 1/3 on the ground because the clay was slippery and feel out of my hands ...glad I had separated it into more than one piece. Love Showtime cinnamon scent.

Mothers Pre-Wax Cleaner
Used a polishin' pal with a white 4-in Cyclo pad (most sections), blue Cyclo pad on bumper area. This was primarily to remove some water spots.

Griot's Pre-Wax Cleaner (also picked up at DF) - redundant with above
Nice orange smelling cleaner but I wanted to use it. It seemed to spread and remove easier than IPA.

Poorboys Trim Restorer
Used on cowling. Applied with a small custom made sponge. Needs to be buffed well to reduce the gloss.

Mothers Protectant (yet another sample)
Applied to all exterior plastic surfaces including headlights except cowling. Very nice scent. Not as matte as 303 but looked nice.

Griots Undercarriage Spray
Oily. Sprayed and then smoothed out with a foam applicator.

Meguiars Hot Shine Tire Spray (gift)
Clear liquid, spreads fine. Way too glossy for my tastes. One drive in the rain and it was gone.

Wolfgang Fuzion
Very easy to apply and remove. Nice smell. The MKZ has Tuxedo Black Metallic. It is not "black" but typically looks gray but the flakes pick up surrounding colors. Fuzion makes the paint look black when dark (pics taken on somewhat overcast day). The trunk and rear shots show the flake popping. The car has a moderate amount of orange peel so not many crisp reflections.

Net: I like it a lot. Nice wet rich look.

Looks good...

For some reason I like this picture best of all, how the top spokes look green...

Great stuff Al, thanks for all the info! I like the Fuzion as well with the limited time I've spent with it. Hoping to get around to getting Sky with it this weekend. :)

Wow good job!
It really irritates me that car manufacturers give us brand new cars with orange peel. I would pay extra money if they would just sand inbetween coats so that our paint would be flat...

haha even production bodyshops like orange peel and if the buffer gets it smooth he generally leaves you with swirls!
