Boat Gelcoat

I was thinking of purchasing the cyclo polisher mega kit. I also want to clean up my boats gelcoat which has low to medium oxidation. Will this machine and foam pads do the trick? Does any one have any recommendations as far as compounds go? I was planning on using the Meguiars boat polish and collinite 845. Most sites I have been to recommend rotary polishers with wool pads but I want something that I can use on my cars as well. If it takes a little longer with the cyclo and foam pads thats ok its only a 20 ft boat.

I have heard people using PC on boats and campers so I would suspect that a Cyclo would work also.

The PC will work fine but it may take quite a while even being only at 20 ft. boat.

I use my PC on my 20" boat to apply a marine wax coat. Once a year I usually have one of the pros around the Marina go at it with a rotary ($200 in the water) and let them deal with the mess. Sun, ocean breeze, Wool pads and compound, eeuuucchh!
If you do not have the Cyclo already, you might want to consider the spaces you will want to use it in. Boats are notorious for nooks and crannies that are difficult to access. Size does become an issue. Had not thought of this before, but EDGE pads might be useful for getting under railings and such, no backing plate.
Am not familiar with collonite but you do want to use a marine wax on your boat. Water is incredibly abrasive, especially salt water.
