Well my new car came in a few weeks early and thanks to all of the wonderful advice on the forums (and plenty of videos by Mike), I decided to tackle the new car prep on my own. When I ordered the car back in February, I made the dealer promise me not to wash it. When he e-mailed me my monthly updates, I reminded him. They did remove the vinyl before I got there (next time, I will ask them to leave it), and overall the paint looked very good. Adhesive leftovers are a pain though. A few random very light scratches. If it weren't for the Brinkmann and a lot of time, I wouldn't have found them.

Here's what I did:
Wash - ONR 2 buckets with grit guards. Home depot grout sponge

Clay - Megs with Pinnacle lube

Polish - Menzerna 085rd on a grey pad with my griots. Intent wasn't to try to correct the few lines I found, but to jewel the paint and prep for sealant.

Sealant - Wolfgang 3.0

It was raining all day, so all work done in my garage and so were the pics. Will get some outside pics this weekend if I re-wash her for a coat of fuzion.

Here are my pics:

Didn't do anything inside since it is brand new. The smell though is heaven (what can I say, born and raised in Detroit, the new car smell is in my genes):

Oh yeah, this is a detailing forum, got to have a pic of the flake!

Thanks for looking. I'm a rookie, so feedback always appreciated. This journey started on this forum way back in the winter when I posted "what car should I buy". All the great advice got me to pull the trigger, and I'm very happy with my new ride (it replaced my DD, a 2008 Cadillac CTS).

I like the matte red and smoke gray combination of the interior. Beautiful car.

Super nice car! You're lucky. I need to ask this forum what kind of car I need to buy...I can't stand getting biased opinions on other forums!

I figured everyone on this forum loves cars so who better to ask? The car is incredible. I was on the fence between a 335xi and the S4. Glad I was patient. 3's are dime a dozen up here and the new S4 is super rare. I like rare :)

Yea I love the S4's they're the 2nd best looking Audi under the R8 and they're pretty quick as well. And I'm sure it gets better MPG than that beemer :xyxthumbs:
I'd love a S4 if I had the cash, I'm more of a speed guy myself..thinking about a '03-'04 Cobra

I dream of an R8 Spyder! Someday (when we are done having kids and they are done spending my money!). This S4 is fast and smooth. Very decieving. I track it Aug 9-10.

Hey S5's are my personal fav under R8, but S4's are a close third . Congrats on the car I'm sure you will love it, and look into a Stasis Tune. 410 hp, reliable and warrantied.

As a BMW fanatic, I can say that is one NIIIIICE Audi. I love Audi's too, so no hate here!

Congrats on the new car!! You did an awesome job prepping it. I love the S4. I love BMWs (I drive one myself), but I have to say the S4 is so much better than the 335 xi. The S4 looks a bit better than the 335 i and I think it is a bit bigger too. Plus you do not have to worry about the high pressure fuel pump going out :).

Definitely this. Stasis does good work and it's well worth the money. I'm a VW guy, but I have several friends with S4s from various years (B5, B6 and B7 chassis) and I can attest that they are awesome cars.

You mentioned tracking the car. Are you an ACNA member? Where are you tracking it?

I hope to join and go to Audi day at Road America in Elkart Lake, WI. It is Aug 9-10. I have been doing my Stasis research and may pull the trigger some day. I must say that stock this puppy is damn quick so far. I ordered the rear sports diff and it does make "spirrited driving" fun.
