I just picked up a 2008 GMC Canyon with only 20,000 miles on the clock for a SWEET deal. It's black and was obviously a cable installer truck as the interior is LOADED with coax wire fragments. Unfortunately, it also appears that it had a ladder rack as well, and the schmoes who were responsible for it didn't care too much if the ladder scrapped the bedsides or not. Anyhow, someone, either the dealer or previous owner went to town with the touch-up paint. It looks dreadful! A bunch of raised stripes if you will.

I want to wet sand these and minimize their appearance as much as possible. I was considering the Meguiars Unigrit sandpaper. What grit(s) would be necessary?

Thanks,

It depends on the damage. Pictures would be helpful. If the prep work wasn't done right, you MAY have to do a respray if you decide to sand it. A touch up paint job should not even be noticeable if done correctly. :)
