View Full Version : Cleaning tires for storage
I'm putting the winter wheels/tires away. They'll each be in their separate wheel covers in the garage unitl next November.
I'll apply DP Wheel Glaze to the wheels. Is applying Opti-Bond or DP Tire gel useful for the tires or just put them away clean?
TIA.

I think a protectant is likely more than is needed, but up to you. As long as they are clean and stored properly the winter rubber should be well. You might check with a tire store on proper inflation while stored.

I dress them before storage because when I put them on it's snowing, cold and late and the last thing I would do is dress them.
Not that it make a difference durning a snow storm............
Need to get some of that Tire Bling the Spanish guys like :D

It may be just me but I like to make sure the things can breathe so I just leave them out in the garage rather than cover them.
Worked for the last 4 years.
Never did anything other than wash them clean and dry them off.
