Well you can safely assume I don't clean salt off many (if any) cars. But my best friend John decided to move down and come work at the 'Geek, and his brand new Mazdaspeed3 was in need of some SERIOUS attention after enduring a horrendous New York winter without a single wash.

The paint on this car was pretty hard and the swirling was "moderate". After all the filth was cleaned off, we went to town using the Wolfgang twins and topped it off with Fuzion. The detail was done over separate days in case you may be wondering why the "scenery" in the before/afters doesn't match.

Wash:

-Wash with DP Auto Bath (http://www.autogeek.net/dp300.html), with Foamaster foam gun (http://www.autogeek.net/auqufofogun.html) & 2 bucket method w/Grit Guards (http://www.autogeek.net/grit-guard.html).
-P21S Gel Wheel cleaner (http://www.autogeek.net/p2wheelclean.html), Daytona Speedmaster (http://www.autogeek.net/ezdebrfca.html), Boar's hair wheel brush (http://www.autogeek.net/8inmoorbohaw.html), Clean wheel lug nut brush (http://www.autogeek.net/lug-nut-brush.html).
-DP Cleanse-All (http://www.autogeek.net/dp320.html) on heavily soiled areas
-Lake Country sponges (http://www.autogeek.net/car-wash-sponge.html)
-Guzzler Combo Kit (http://www.autogeek.net/guzzler-microfiber-combo.html)

Clay:

-Pinnacle XMT Speed Clay (http://www.autogeek.net/xmt-speed-clay-bar.html), DP Clay Lubricant (http://www.autogeek.net/dp365.html)

Correction:

-Flex XC3401 VRG (http://www.autogeek.net/flex-orbital-polisher.html) w/Tangerine Hydro-Techs (http://www.autogeek.net/lc-hydro-tech-foam-pads.html) and White LC Flat pads (http://www.autogeek.net/vcpad.html)
-Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0 (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-total-swirl-remover-car-polish-3-0.html)
-Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0 (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-finishing-glaze-finishing-polish-3-0.html)

Fuzion will not only make your paint more reflective, it will make you look even better in the reflections!

Wow, Mazda Paint is amazing. The flake is so nice! Good job on the turn around. Now he has to get into the addiction of keeping it that way! ;)

OK Matt, you're 1/2 done. What we see was on top side. Now it's time to "get down under" waiting for you to clean up.

Matt, out of curiousity, what speeds did you use on the 3401 with TSR and FG?

Yes, but he didn't get his first paycheck until the car was detailed
