Sure...

Wipe clean with DP Waterless Wash
Clay with XMP Speed Clay and XMT Speed Clay Lube
Hand rub with M07 to bring the paint back to life
Cut with M80 using a rotary buffer with Kompressor Pads
DA Polish using Wolfgang Finishing Glaze
Clean and seal using XMT 360 using a DA
Frosting goes on later today, Dodo Juice Banana Armor

It could be, it's all original with a 460 big block and it runs great!

The owner bought it from a car collector and is going to introduce me to the car collector. The owner of this car says his car collector friend as a 'lot' of original cars. When I go to look at the collection, I'll ask if I can take pictures and if I can I'll share them.

My goodness. There are tanks smaller than that Lincoln. That was always my Mom's favorite car until she switched over to a Honda Odessy.

It's really a good idea to try to take one day off a week and recharge your batteries and I try to practice this myself, but I just got off the phone with the owner and he said he's going to try to set up a meeting today at 3:00pm for him and I to go check out a collection of 1959 Cadillacs and other vintage cars.

So I'm going to go out into the Studio and put the frosting on the cake. Should take about an hour and then I'll post a few pictures.

Cake is good, but a little frosting makes cake even better...

Put the frosting on the cake earlier today and then went to see the Cadillac collection, came back and took a after shots... here's a few more pictures...

Dodo Juice Banana Armour Hard Car Wax states it's for "Warm Colors" and this paint looks like it glows with warmth so I chose the Dodo Juice Banana Armour Hard Wax.

I prefer to apply waxes and paint sealants by machine when I can so here's how to apply a paste wax by machine.


Porter Cable 7424XP with a 5.5" Flat Gray Finishing Pad, Dodo Juice Banana Armour Hard Wax and some Microfiber Gloves. http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/859/Behemoth2010.jpg



To get the wax out of the plastic jar you just have to carefully knock it out using inertia by holding the jar upside down and then knocking it against your other hand with a Microfiber Glove on it.

Then hold the polisher in one hand and the wax in your other hand with the glove on it and blip the on/off button of the polisher while holding the wax against the face of the pad and you can quickly transfer wax to the pad. I was by myself when I took this picture so instead of holding the polisher in my other hand I'm holding the camera but you get the idea...

The Microfiber Gloves keep the wax clean until you place it back into the jar and enable you to grip the wax so it doesn't slip out of your hand and onto the floor...

It takes a little muscle to do this because in one hand you're holding the wax and the other hand is holding the polisher for the duration of time it takes to run the polisher over every square inch of the car. If you had a helper they could hold the wax with microfiber gloves on and you could use both hands to hold the polisher, then as you needed more wax your helper could apply the wax while you hold the polisher, otherwise hit the gym.

In the forum world you'll often read people talking about getting the "Sun Shot", that's where they pull their project car out into the sun to show there are no swirls in the paint.

The below shot is kind of like the "Sun Shot", but I call it the "Fun Shot" becasue I was just having some fun with the Dodo name in wax.

I used a microfiber bonnet over a 3" Griot's Garage Buffing Pad on a DA Polisher and took the wax off only where the word DODO was spelled out and then pulled the car into the sun for a "Fun Shot".

Beautiful job Mike. It sure brings back some good memories. The Lincoln Mark series had some of my very favorite cars. I particularly liked the V model. My very first car was a used Mark V Emilio Pucci Edition. It got lousy gas mileage (8 MPG on premium) but that 460 CID engine was smooth as silk (when it wasn't overheating. Bad radiator.:rolleyes:). Sure wish I still had it. It would have been an awesome restoration project!
