Boat hull - prep and seal question

I would like to clean up the hull and structure of a nice 24' trailered boat I go fishing on all the time.
Since this is somewhat related to autos with fiberglass bodies, I hope you don't mind this inquisition.

I am dealing with unpainted gel coat for the most part.

Would the Megs 80 with both a mild wool pad - then a blue foam pad on my rotary clean this up just fine, and what type of sealant would you suggest to help it glisten up and protect it somewhat would you use?

I have some Megs 80, and DP sealant on hand to use, but I am open to using another product if it the results are much better. Thanks_______

Yes.

M80 with a wool pad on a rotary is a medium range oxidation remover, the M80 isn't all that aggressive compared to a true abrasive compound but together with the fibers of a wool cutting pad and the power of a rotary buffer you can remove the dead, oxidized gel-coat from the surface.

Plus, the oils in the M80 will help prevent future oxidation, at least to some level and of course, seal the surface with a coat or two of wax or a sealant.

You can cut with M80 and the wool pad and then polish with the M80 with a foam pad.

I've tried all sorts of waxes on my boats over the years, but by far the most durable is the Collonite 845 paste. I use 2 coats twice a year. If I'm in a hurry I'll use the Collonite insulator wax. It still gives the hull a good look and is more durable than most waxes. The biggest upside though is that it is easy to work with, especially with the PC. This of course is after you get the gelcoat in good shape.

I like the megs 80 plus the two pad combo on all my vehicle polishing jobs as well.
