I am have a couple questions when it comes to glass polishing. What different products has everyone tested out polish/pad combos to take care of the different defects we run into (water marks, Etching, and fine wiper scratches) vs just a cleaning buff of the glass to remove build up...

Also what expanded tolerances do we run into with glass when it comes to heat and pressure, and is there the ability to worsen the glasses appearance with a DA or orbital?

Is the diamonte restoring cream the best go to option?

I have used SSR3 and a yellow pad with a fair bit more pressure (using PCXP) then I'd ever use on paint to take care of some really pad windows but would like to find out the best way to take care of these issues.

thank you in advance

Chris

If you are actually talking about removing scratches you will never do it with a DA.
I use a slurry made from water and cerium oxide on a hard felt bob in a drill motor. And it not only takes quite a while but a surprisingly high amount of pressure. I never allow the compound to dry out, and don't hold the bob on one spot for very long. You do not want to heat a small portion of the glass while the rest of it is cold. You can crack it that way.

Seems like not many people are chiming in on this one... I was hoping to hear feed back on the different kits offered on here

Here's a nice write-up from mr.haributo
How To Remove Water Spots off Glass using M04 with an RB - Car Care Forums: Meguiar's Online (http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31751)

And a quote from myself. In the future I'll try using a LC Orange or Cyan HT pad on the Flex, the drill attachment was too small.

I've had great results with Glass Science Glass Scrub (http://www.autogeek.net/glass-scrub-stripper.html) used with a drill and the foam pad from 3M Headlight kit (http://www.autogeek.net/3m-headlight-kit.html). It say not to use the product dry, but it if you use too much water it will lather up like soap so you just have to find a balance.

3-50/50 results with 3M foam pad on drill
