Hello!

Since the XMT #4 is BOGO this week I wanted to try it but I currenctly own the SSR3 and I like the result I'M getting from the SSR3 and almost dust-free.

Is the XMT #4 the same quality?

XMT #4 is like liquid sandpaper. It is very abrasive and cuts very quickly. It will leave swirls in the paint if used with a rotary buffer and micro-marring if used with a DA Polisher. This isn't necessarily a bad thing it just means you have to do a follow-up polishing process to remove the swirls.

The benefit is fast cutting action.

I used to not like products like this but once in a while it's a very handy product to have around, definitely a product to have in your arsenal for when you need a fast cutting compound.

XMT #4 is wicked. I tried it on some dog scratches in my truck. It took them out quickly. The marring was heavy. I followed with 2 cycles of 105, etc.

I had a little splatter at one point. It splattered on my test spot that I had already finished down. Gently wiping the very small splatter left scratches in the paint. You can hear the grit when you spread it around with the machine off at the beginning of the buffing cycle.

I ONLY use it for spot buffing serious scratches.

XMT #4 is wicked.

That's pretty descriptive... :)

Removing Paint Transfer
Another handy use for XMT #4 is anytime you need to remove paint transfer, that is for example if a panel of a car is accidentally run against some other item, like a fence post, or another car, or a wall, etc. and some of the paint comes off the other item and is transferred onto your car or your customer's car, the XMT #4 works really well for removing the transferred paint. Then after removing the transferred paint you'll need to polish out any scratching left by the XMT #4

I usually remove transferred paint by hand with a piece of terry cloth but remove the haziness left by the XMT #4 by machine. The reason for his is when working by hand you can exert a lot of pressure with your fingers to a small area and that's usually what you want to do with transferred paint.

By the way, I did this correction with SSR3 orange pad followed by SSR 2 with white pad and QD+. turn out great. So I guess XMT4 and SSR3 are both pretty much the same product.

If there are no scratches I am usually able to get paint xfer out with SSR2 on org then either some ssr1 on white or SSR2 on white to remove any possible marring
