Hey guz, here are a few pics of one of the cars I did last weekened. I got to try out a lot of new stuff from AG, so I'll mix in a little review. I've been detailing this guyz cars on a regular basis, mainley wash and waxes. Like I said I got to ue some new stuff I got like the shmitt, edge wave pads, and collinite 476. Here is what I did.

Washed with Megs. GC
Cleaned the paint with ssr 1 and a blue edge wave pad
Waxed with collinite 476
On the inside I used Megs. 40 and Lexol Leather Dressing
Stoner IG on the glass
Armor All tire gel

I manage to get two complete details, swirl removal, out of him on his 96 Merc. s 500 and Porsche 911 Carrera, i think its a 2000 or later.
And for the review:

The Edge Shmitt:

As soon as I opened the package, I knew I was going to love this thing. Very snug fit and softer than I thought it was going to be. This thing holds a lot of suds, no waste. Makes washing a breeze, fits in tight places and has very good cleaning power. With this mitt you don't have to use two bucket. I used a six gallon with a grit guard and soap and just rinsed the mitt off each after each sectio with the hose, I was amazed how easily dirt and debris just rinsed off. When I was finished I just rinsed out all the soap and gave it a quick ring out and it was almost completely dry, whcih was a problem I faced with my sheepskin or mf mitts. To be honest I doubted this mitt at first, but after using it I'm glad I got two. Definitely worth a try. I used it later that day on may car after doing two other cars for this guy and there was no evidence of swirls. This mitt is a must, like the edge pads once you try it you won't want to go back to anything else.

I was looking for a new scrub pad for the front of cars, windows, and lower rocker panels that wasn't going to scratche and actually worked. I had been using Pinn Bug Scrub Pad, but the size made it hard to use and I noticed that it can leave swirls and was hard to keep clean, don't get me wrong its a great pad and works very well with proper use, but I neede something I could use quiclky and efficently without worry. Well I found the answer. This pad has incredible srcubbing power withour leaving any swirls, I did a few test with it when I first got it. Even with hardly any soapy water on dry dirty paint with a fair amount of pressure, I could not make any swirls. It was only when I used an etreme amount of pressure did I get any swirls, something no one in there right mind would even think about. The pad makes cleaning quick and effortlessly. I used it with an APC os just soapy water there wasn't anything I couldn't get off. The pad rinse clean with, even with greasy smudges
the pad rinses completely clean, I also use it on wheels and tires, and just after a quick rinse its safe enogh to go straight back onto the paint. I've used it on about ten cars so far and half were really dirty anf it still is a good as the first time. Once again this pad is well worth a try.

What can I say, everything you love about the regular edge pad, but with the added security of waves. I actually think that the wave design makes for better contact and more efficent paint clean up. Of course there two sided, which is one of the main reasons I like these pad as well as the self centering aspect. They come clean just as easy as the regular pads. I really beleive the edge pad system is the best on the market and don't plan on switching any time soon. Can't wait to see what edge rolls out next.

THis was more of an impulse buy and I wanted see if this stuff could do what it says. I used a foam pad to apply it fequently srpaying the pad with qd. It went on just as easy as any other nuba and came off just as easy. I did the entire side of the car before removing any, came of easy without any problems. The first thing I noticed was how smooth it left the paint, usually I find that most nubas don't leave a really smooth finish like a sealant, but this stuff did. Next was the very deep and wet shine it left, even on my white car. This stuff could giev a lot of nubas a run for there money. Like I said it rained after I finished which let me see the beading capabilities, whcih was very good, the pic above shows this. I will be going back to this guys house in a few weeks, so I'll see how its holdong up. Give this stuff a try, well worth the money, which really isn't that bad for a good nuba.

sounds good and all but i admit i lost all interest in the car when i saw the transmission. thumbs down for the owner on that subject haha

Wow! Great product reviews. Question, are you using the wave pads with a PC or rotary? The 928 really looked great. I really loved that car after seeing it in "Risky Business." Another question, the MF scrubbing pad . . . have you tried it on any interior pieces? I would also like to say that I recently gave Collonite a shot. I bought a bottle of 845 and like you experienced with 476 it left a really smooth finish, beads really nicely, and leaves a deep wet shine. I was shocked and amazed at what a nice wax it was. Reading others reviews of Collonite I had thought it's only redeeming quality was it's durability.

Yea, but that thing has a big block v8 in it, it caught me off guard the first time he started it. The motor is huge in that thing, its got a nice rumble to and the car rocks when ou give it some gas. I think its the only porsche that has a v-8 in it, excpept for that new porsche exotic

I was using the edge wave pads with a d/a and yes I have tried the mf pad on the interior, works just as well. The guy also has a 911, but I like this one more mainly becuse of the big ass engine in it.

The 928 was an unbelievable car for it's time. I know a guy who has one. His has an automatic tranny too.

Here's a funny story. So, this guy I just mentioned buys early to mid 90's Ferrari Testarossa a few years ago. It's manual and he's never owned a manual car before. He rents a car with a stick for a few weeks to try and learn how to drive stick. However, within the first two weeks of owning the Ferrari he doesn't get the stick all the way in gear. He realeases the clutch and the shifter comes flying out of gear. It hits his hand and breaks several bones.

wow learn something new everyday i didnt know that porche's had an auto tranny option! whats the engine spec i LOVE my big blocks :) thats why i built a big-small block

WOW! Ain't that some $%^&. I think the owner of this one had a few to many cold ones and tried to take it mud riding, see the pic up top with all the mud on the tire. You should have seen under the fender. He said he got stuck in a neighbors drive way. I don't know, but I will say that car is an electrical nightmare, I recently put an alarm in one and there is actually a small transformer on the passager side of the seat, I'm glad I didn't find that one out the hard way, but I really do like the car, the car has a far amount of pick up, he let drive it once, I was tempted to lay into it, but of course not mine.

Good review E.D. I'm thinking Edge needs to make a wave on one side and the regular dual foam pad on the other, that would be a pretty sweet combo.

And I'll have to agree with you about my shmitt I love that thing!!!!! One of my best investments!!

I know you can order pads with different strength on each side from Edge, maybe they can make that combo that would be a good idea.

We used to run our 95' 993 at tracks like Sebring. There was one guy who would run there that had a supercharged 928 that was pretty damn quick on the road course lol, manual trans though, the autos were weak.

And great review on Colinite, really underrated. A lot of people seem to say their stuff doesn't look good blah blah, obviously they haven't used it. I have 845 and 915, used some on waverunner/boat, and one of other cars. 915 is great.

I'm sure as hell picking up the Schmitt next order:D

Ay! (she sighs wistfully) I miss my stick shift! As much as I love my car, it doesn't feel like driving to me. :(

Great beading on that hood. :) Thanks so much for the great write ups too. I love my shmitt as well and I don't even go to my sheepskins anymore. Will you have the opportunity to put some sun shots of the car up do you think? I'd like to see the collinite in the sun. :) If possible of course. :)
