I have an orange one that's done that.

it was my first ccs exp and I really liked them but if they're just gonna turn into flat pads I think i'll just order flats next time. The orange one I used is fine and it got the same treatment.WEIRD.

Yeah I bought the low profile 5.5 ccs pads and they (not all) do that. Especially the orange ones.

I have had probably 6 of the last ccs pads I ordered do that. In fact, I opened an orange 5.5" pad today and did 2 passes with M105 and I could barely tell it was a ccs pad it was so flat.

When do you know your pad is at its end? I also have a few orange CCS pads and they are flat in the center after a few uses.

This is great news, maybe I'll start using my ccs pads if they are going to become flat pads for me LOL

Here's the actual picture,

It's really easy to upload into your gallery and then "insert" a picture versus attaching a thumbnail...

I talked to Eric Dunn and about this and his thoughts were the CCS imprint probably wasn't to spec to start with and then with some heat, pressure and use the pad flattened out. This shouldn't affect the pads ability to perform.

Thanks for the info and research Mike, Ill continue to use the CCS to a backup for my Flat. But I cannot live without my Gold Jeweling CCS love it. Thanks again my green pad will see another day.
