Hey guys, not very many post but I always review the forum and buy stuff alot from the site. I want to start machine polishing and I bought a Megs DA last year and have never used it yet. I have a Fiji Blue Pearl Honda Civic Si and I want to see what pads/products you reccomend for correction. I know the test spot is crucial but I dont have enough money to buy many polishes and test them out. Casn you guys reccomend me some combos you think may work or have had luck with? I have very minor swirls from washing and the hood seems to have many minor scratches. I appreciate it!!

Don't know how bad the paint is but you can almost never go wrong with Megs 105/205 combo. You can now get them in 8oz sizes so its easy on the wallet.

Welcome to AG! And hello fellow Si owner! I have found that the most "universal" combo is 105/205. I just recently polished out a "test panel" on my car from when the body shop "detailers" washed it using this combo with 105 on an orange CCS 205 on a white CCS and then followed it with Menzerna PO85RD on a black CCS. With your pearl this is IMO what will look absolutely amazing. Just my .02 cents. Oh and be careful, our paint (clear) is supppppeerrr soft.

Wow that was a fast reply! The paint is in great shape the car is a garage kept 2008. I barely even drive the car. Many of the scratches and minor swirls happened when I first bought the car i was driving it alot for almost 2 years and now I carpool with my father since we work together.

I would build a garage for my MUGEN.....if I had one. What number is yours? And I was just getting ready to say pics or it didn't happen but you updated your avatar. Are you on 8th?

Yes, I heard how soft the paint is. Its also very noticable since the hood chips so easily when you drive on the highway!

Yes I am on 8thcivic.com for a long time now. My only mods to the car are Mugen short shifter and Mugen visors. I bought it new in March of 08. I rarely drive it now since I carpool. I will post pics now let me load them up. My name on 8th is CapoMugenSi. Going by the VIN mine is #44 but us Mugen owners have not determined if that # is the true build number yet and Honda will not help us either.

If your paint is in as good condition as you claim, you won't need M105. I'm betting you can just go with M205. If your budget is really tight, I would suggest you look into SwirlX. I just found out from one of Mike Phillips's postings that it actually has a little more cut than M205.

I personally just use Menzerna Super Finish (PO106fa) with a white LC polishing pad on my Milano Red Prelude VTEC. It's done a great job of removing light to medium swirls and finishes down with no haze whatsoever. I've used M205 sparingly because I have a hard time getting it to finish down in one step, unlike Super Finish.

Are the OZ's Superleggeras? When I had an 02' Acura TL-S, I got 17' silver OZ Superleggeras for it. I wound up giving the car to my brother, but I kept the rims and I currently have them on my wife's 07' Accord. They look so much better than the OEM rims it's ridiculous.

No they are ultraleggeras I think I remember the super being alot more expensive. The Mugen forged wheels are way lighter though.

I like the Ultras a lot too. I'm pretty sure they're around the same price. Around $275 each? I think the Ultras replaced the Supers. I saw the Ultras at TireRack and I wanted to get them for my Prelude, but I had just purchased some Motegi MR7's, so my wife said no way in #$%&!
