Took the afternoon off and decided to do a moderate detail of the Coupe' before driving out to VIR (Virginia International Raceway) tomorrow.

Performed a good wash and clay.

Applied a coat of Pinnacle Sovereign.

Then figured I would try out the Optimum Opti-Seal (http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-seal.html) that I received last week so applied that over top the Sovereign.

Spritzed a little on a foam pad and started to wipe it on.
The bottle says use sparingly. They are not kidding..

Let it dry for about 30 minutes.

I then could see spots where I had put it on a little too heavy.

So I used a dry microfiber towel and did a light wipe down of the car.

So, is this the proper way to apply this? Does doing a final dry wipe to remove the extra, OK or do I need to apply it more sparingly? Or a little bit of both....

One more question on this. When applying, do you apply in a circular motion or a linear motion?

Thanks in advance.

extremely thin even coverage ... if you still see streaking after 15 minutes use a spray detailer and thick towel to wipe off the excess. (works for me)

Hey guys, isn't Opti-Seal better off being applied under Sovereign, not over....optimally??

In any case, apply about one pump per every 2-4sq. ft. .....then wipe away with an MF towel. Or reverse it and pump into a MF cloth and apply. Do sections at a time. Dry/polish the finish as you go. You will hardly use any of the 8oz. bottle for an entire vehicle. Inspect the finish of your work, polish those areas that have haze remaining. Voila!! You're done.

I have never had any luck using a foam pad. Once I switched to a microfiber covered sponge all was well......not a streak since.

Thanks for the info. Looking at the video, it shows me that I was using TOO MUCH.

I just got back from a day at VIR and just finished washing the garbage off the car.

Can I layer the Opti-Seal?
