I have 105 and my 205 is running low. I have Powerfinish, and 85rd, also m151 which of these would be your choice to follow 105 with until I can grab more 205?

Im thinking Powerfinish on a green, or gray?? If I go with a white or orange I know I will have to follow with 85rd especially if its a dark colored non metallic car.

or

85rd on a gray but I dont know if it will remove the minor stuff left behind from the 105

have used the 85 after compounding on a polishing pad to clean up the non metallic black on my Jetta with no problems, it always has finished down great on dark colors and didn't dust hardly at all.

85rd doesn't have much cut, but if you work 105 correctly you won't have any problems finishing down with 85rd.

I would use 85rd. I have had really good success with it after compounding when used with a grey pad. I posted some pictures show what I have done with it.

After one buffing cycle with 85rd.

havent used it yet but could D151 work instead of M205? what about Power Finish after M105? i have both of the above on order and cant wait to try them as a one step and as a second step.

Some paints react differently, so you need to try it out and see if it works for you.

I would use either 151 or 85rd. Try a test panel

Yeh almost out of 205 as this will only need to be a short lived substitute. Was just seeing if anyone has used a solid substitute that fills the gap in the 105//205 combo if the 205 is missing. I know it is depending on the vehicle and its paint condition. Just wondering what falls under the line close to 205 as far as grit, cut, and gloss.

I was going to say nano as it would probably be close. But I have D151, 85rd, and PowerFinish. So just wondering which is closest to 205 as far as its place in the Meguiars 105/205 two stepper. I mean 105/205 is a great two step, but say I do 105 and powerfinish or SIP. Im trying to avoid a third step of following up with 85rd. As I still sometimes get slight haze in SIP/PF, or maybe just not the gloss I know I can get by following with third step of 85rd. Just wondering if people are using 105 and what they are reaching for after it that will finish down nice and be ready for LSP. Most two steps I get away with Powerfinish/SIP and finish with 85rd. I like Powerfinish and feel it leaves less to clean up after then the SIP. But not sure on 105 then going to PF. But I do know when some serious correction is needed I love 105/205 then its all in what pads you use.

Looks like Im going to grab my buddies nasty black ride and see what these combos produce.
105/PF
105/85rd
105/d151

Ill get some pics after the test spots are done.
