Anyone used them? I was wondering if they would work well to clean plastic headlight lenses.

Meguiars Easy Buff Knitted Wool 3 Inch Pads, wool cutting pad, compounding pad, spot buff pad (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-easy-buff-wool-pad.html)

I would be using them with a Rotary.

Please ket me know your thoughts on them. They look like a nice pad for a small difficult to reach area.

Sigh wish I was closer to Florida as I would like to attend the meet.

I used one on the 1969 El Camino Damp Sanding Project (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/wet-sanding-cutting-buffing/23865-if-has-paint-gets-polished.html) with a rotary and it works well, kind of like the 4" Purple Foamed Wool Pad except that it's attached to a thick, foam buffing pad as an back-up interface.

Long, fiberous pads don't work well with tools that oscillate very well. Solid mediums like foam are better. The long fibers just collapse and bend and dissipate all the energy from a DA Polisher.

The Meguiar's Spot Repair Pads are being targeted INITIALLY for use with rotary buffers. You can of course use them with DA Polishers and we have a video coming out showing them being used with a DA Polisher to remove a Bird Dropping Etching.

Hang on and I'll share some pics on this topic...

Here's a brand new one next to one I used with M105 on the Flex 3403 Lightweight Rotary Buffer to remove sanding marks.

The way the fibers have matted down in a twisted fashion is NORMAL

Here's a brand new Meguiars Easy Buff Knitted Wool 3 Inch Pad (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-easy-buff-wool-pad.html) next to a Foamed Wool 3.5 inch Buffing & Polishing Pad (http://www.autogeek.net/3-5inch-foamed-wool-pad.html)

Here they are upside down with a 2 3/4" rotary buffer backing plate (http://www.autogeek.net/2vebapl.html) attacked to give you an idea of general size.

These are both good for aggressive cutting on thin panes or for spot repair when using a rotary buffer.

Mike:
Thank you for the in depth answer. I have a couple of the FWP and like them a lot. My next order will include this pad. I need to check this weekend to see if I have the small backing plate for my Makita.

Sigh mo money for a hobby I enjoy.
