Speckled windshield

I noticed that under certain lighting conditions ( bright sun ) there are speckles all over the windshield. The outside is clean and smooth. These speckles are all over not in just one area, and under the right angle of sun are very annoying. I was wondering what they are? Is there anything I can use to fix this problem? Could it be internal to the windshield? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The speckles you're seeing are more than likely little pits on the outside caused by tinny bits of sand and debris hitting it. These little pits refract the light causing you to see them. Take it to a glass shop and have them polish it or replace it.
