Yeah I know Autogeek does not carry this, but I think they should. This product was brought up in a Avalanche Detail thread. Those with vehicles with alot of exterior plastics that all tend to fade over the years, even more so on the Avalanches. I picked up a can of Refinish Restorer which is rather expensive, but WELL worth it.

Decided to use it on my mom's 03 Avalanche, which the plastic was almost faded white, had the zebra effect going on some panels and just all over was in poor condition. This product is simple to put on, requires a dry area to cure and then wipe down, and reapply as nessacary.

Borrowed a few pictures from DGAS thread, since it was raining out and could not get any good dry pictures.

Zebra Effect and how faded the Avalanche I worked on today was.

Over all easy product to work with and does a great job. It was amazing the pads afterwards how much stuff it cleaned out of the plastic. :dblthumb2:

Where did you purchase your can from? You can send it to me in a PM to avoid problems. I've wanted to pick up some this stuff for testing.

Glad the RR worked out well for you! I've mentioned it here before and got a somewhat lukewarm response, with everything from dressings to dyes to spray paints being suggested as "better" alternatives.

Assuming you haven't done so already, try to get at least a second coating of it on (after proper cure time) as you will get better coverage and a more even finish. The bed panels due to sun exposure typically soak up a lot initially, so don't be too worried about laying it on too thick. Each subsequent coat will use less and go on quicker. Pics look great, btw!!!

I was just thinking about this product for darkening trim on my Saab, that you for the review! I have tried Forever Black and did not like it at all and got shoddy results. I have used Duplicolor Flexible bumper coating but it is a spray can so I have only used it on removable trim.

If you don't mind, I just have a few questions:

-Does it leave a sheen (i.e a dressed look) to the trim?
-Is it a permanent dye/color restorer?

Thanks in advance!

Within the first hour or so it gives it kinda a dressed look but once it fully dry's out and then you come back with a cloth and wipe it down, it just looks like normal black plastic.

Also its not permanent but it is a oil based dye that will soak into the plastic. You will notice as your putting it down that your lifting grime up from the pastic.

Great, thanks again for the information. I will have to get some of this and give it a shot. That would be a good business idea to pitch in terms of restoring trim as an additional service too; seems like a good way for the product to pay for itself.
