I had the chance to detail a black C6 Z06 this weekend that had 10,000 miles on it. The whole car was filled with swirls and a few RIDS here and there.

Looks Good! I always wondered if people in Florida get that license plate because they think it's might help when it comes to receiving speeding tickets.

Why do you prefer to use 5.5" pads vs. 6.5" with a DA on a Vette?

Why do you prefer to use 5.5" pads vs. 6.5" with a DA on a Vette?


Well, less rotational mass, mean better motor efficiency... Basic mechanics. Ever wonder why having an aluminum flywheel or an aluminum driveshaft offer better performance in cars? Lighter weight, better efficiency.

5.5" pads also help alot in the curves of cars. Being smaller, they are easier to move around. I have 6" Kompressors (barely larger than my CCS 5.5"), some CCS 5.5", and some CCS 4". The 4" are perfect for New Edge Mustangs because of all the odd angles and curves. Try to the fenders on my car with a 6.5" pad LOL.

Plus the smaller pads have more cut because the motor is able to turn the pads easier and thus faster and when using a DA you need all of that that you can get. Flat pads are also better with a DA because of the increased surface area. CCS pads are meant to disapate heat namely for rotaries. DA's hardly generate heat.

I figured as much for most that you said, just wanted some clarification. :xyxthumbs:

I wonder how much time would be saved using a 6.5" pad(where you can) vs. a 5.5" pad?
