Will the 3.5" backing plate work with the Griot's 6" polisher? Looks like the spindle housing is bigger than the PC and might be too big to use 4" pads. Thanks.

I just got my 3.5" plate last night. Have not tried to put it on my GG ROP yet. I will try that this evening. If you don't have your answer by tonight, I will post.

I plan to use my old PC for 4" pads and my new GG for the 5.5/6.5 pads anyway. But, I would be happy to check it for you. There may be some tougher jobs that I will want the 4" pads on the more powerful polisher anyway.

Seems to fit fine. I have not actually used it on there, but, it fits. Will try to use it by this weekend.

np. Looking at that photo again, it looks worse in there than it does in real life. The clearance is better than that.

The Griot DA will accept all 5/16" threaded backing plates. You can also use the smaller 3" pads. You will need an adapter for the DA as the backing plate is for a rotary.
