Any thoughts or suggestions? I would think a towel with a deep nap would be best for this job, but I haven't the experience to know.

the deeper the nap the better. I think you might not want one that is as large as a drying towel, but get a 16x16 or a little bigger so you dont have a huge thick MF to deal with as you wipe the car down.
