well I went an found a hood off an old chevy pickup (i think about a 1965) today an tore into it with the new flex. First used menz power gloss with orange ccs pad; then went to power finish with white ccs pad; then 85RD with blue ccs pad. topped it all off with some fuzion.... this is what i got. the paint was obviously in horrible condition (deep scrapes, dents an some rust under the paint) but check out that shine! didnt have my camera so just snapped a cell phone pic.

Hmmm.. good job! I would just be careful on old stuff with deep gashes to save your pads!

well to add to my thread here, I just wanted to share an see what ya thought...
I did a 3 stage polish on my cousins black chevy. Used menzerna, ccs, flex, klasse, and souveran.
technically speaking this was my second time if ya count the hood i did in the picture above.
here are some before an afters...

Ditto :iagree:
And just to add a little something to that. Since you have an old beat up panel to practice on, get some sandpapers and start wetsanding with 2000grit to 2500grit, then compound , polish. i'm sure you'll get better results. Good luck. I'm also new to the forum. waiting for my pcxp to get started on my ride too.
