I would like to know the right way to clean and protect satin black paint inside the trunk of a convertible 04 Corvette ?
Do you just wash and wax ? It looks like single stage paint no clear

You will wash it like you would the rest of the car, do not polish the area and only use a chemical cleaner (no abrasive). If on a budget use something like Opti-Seal to protect it, if money is no object get your hands on SV Opaque was and might as well the get Opaque cleaner which is made for matte finishing. You could also get Insignis which is good wax for matte finishes.

Like I said SV is the expensive option but Opti-Seal will not alter the looks of the matte and give good protection and what I used before i got Insignis.

Some sealants will make it shine a bit, best bet would be to do a small test spot to see if a sealant (make sure it does not have abbrasive clears like some all in ones have) and see if it gives you a look you are happy with. If it does not just strip it with a citrus wash or APC solution.

Here's a thread Mike Phillips posted on MOL some time ago.

On the 'unfinished' paint inside trunk jambs and under the hood, I've had good luck with Optimum Car Wax though anything will basically work in there. Just be careful and use a product that doesn't leave any white residue behind.

I've used Meguiars D151, Optimum Car Wax, Pinnacle Souveran, Four Star UPP and others all with about the same results. None really left any shine and the OCW seemed easiest to use overall since there is no residue.
