I keep my MF towels, applicator pads and extra buffing pads in plastic storage boxes and plastic drawer cabinets.
My PC and enough pads for a job are in a plastic toolbox.
Those items are left in the garage.
Since I live in a cold climate, my chemicals are kept in the basement. Gallons in more plastic boxes and smaller, regularly used products on storage shelves.
I use Steri-Lite Tote trays for product used on each job.
Different products in different totes depending on whether I'm just doing a wash and interior clean up or a complete detail needing polish and wax.

This is the tote tray I use. They are deep enough to hold spray bottles and large enough to hold several bottles. Found them at Wal-Mart.

cool dark cabinets out of extreme temp changes is likely best.

I keep towels in the deep tubs sold at like Lowes. Wax in a clear tote(so I can bring it in out of the cold garage.) Foam pads/wax pads in a small tote. I have a shelf for car wash stuff also.

Old pic, gotta get another one of these. This one is overflowing these days. The underside of the shelves are covered with pads velcroed underneath.

Well I just indulged in a DA. Might as well start saving for the sears cabinet now

I use the 24x48 x72 metal frame with particle board shelves. The shelves are rated @ 200 lbs. each and cost around $75. You put them together with a hammer. They are . very sturdy. I use plastic containers from Walmart with lids for MF. I use the Janitors bottle caddies from Walmart that hold 8 qt bottles for sprays. etc.

Home Depot or Sams have the shelving units. Dont buy plastic shelving units no matter how sturdy they look. I learned this the hard way!

Take a look at the plastic containers in my pictures holding my pads. I got those at wallmart and recommend them for the 6.5" pads. They fit 2 stacks of pads (12 total) and looking down on the container the right and left side are semicircle shaped. Works just perfect! Good quality, the lid has a hinge on one side and seals nicely, and They were only a couple bucks each. If anybody is interested let me know and I'll take another shot specifically of the pad container up close.

I would like to see the pad container up close. I agree with whoever said that the plastic shelves are crap. My parents put some in my garage and my dad promptly ran into one and now it is the Leaning tower of crap.

Watch the flyers or subscribe to the newsletter. IIRC, I got that one for $275. Liked it well enough to pick up another one for all the car/bike stuff.

Don't go to pick one of these up without a pickup truck and two people. The packaging is heavy and bulky. Getting it unpackaged and placed were you want it solo is a lot of fun too. :eek:

For all my MF towels and foam pads I've got 3 of these:

They're fairly big, probably 22" wide by 14" deep. $12 each at WalMart around back-to-school.

For all my chemicals I've got a plastic shed thing. 3x6, maybe 18" deep, 3 shelves inside with room for my buckets/gallon containers on the floor.
